  3. Right–nothing wrong with a collection of wise writings. It’s the fact that he’s calling it a Bible, and apparently to some degree organizing it that way, that makes it seem sad to me. It’s like a little boy who wants a dog trying to pretend that a toy dog is real.

  4. Even more sad when you consider not so much that the writer cannot compare to God (obviously) but that he very likely cannot even compare to Moses (assuming him to be the human author of the pentateuch).

  5. True, though he does seem a nicer guy than the other big-name atheists (Dawkins et.al.). There was a funny remark attributed to him (I think)–saying he didn’t understand the anger of those guys: “Being an angry atheist is like sleeping furiously.”
    But possibly the anger is a more healthy spiritual reaction.
