You can listen to the entire new GW/Dave Rawlings album on NPR right now. I'm not sure how long these "First Listen" features remain available. I have two of her (their) albums, Time (The Revelator) and Revival, and while each has a few songs I'm unenthusiastic about, the rest are terrific.

I just sat and listened to the whole album–something I never do–and I really, really liked it. That’s a wonderful sound. I’m not sure I would like all the lyrics if I could understand them, but I love the music. 😉

I am quite excited about this record, but I haven’t had a chance to hear it yet. Her first record, Revival, is a long-time favourite. There’s a positive review of the new record up at Christianity Today.

I sort of like Time better, overall, though I admit the 14-minute song is a little questionable. I really love her version of “Orphan Girl” on Revival.

I didn’t pay any notice to this. Then a theologian, a ‘FB friend’ I met just once in my life, put it up too, and I came back here and tried it. The music is beautiful.

Having pointed this out to everybody else, I found that it was no longer available when I finally got around to trying to listen to it.
