I’m obviously not cut out to be a football fan, but I might try for Homecoming Queen.

No, actually I do it most of the time, and when I do it’s always right, so of course the next time I don’t bother, it’s wrong. That’s probably not a perverse accident. When I don’t bother it’s probably because I’m hurrying, which also increases the likelihood that I’ll do it wrong.

Well, I have completely despaired of ever being able to do it right, so I don’t even try anymore.
