Weekend Music
Just because I need to watch this every once in a while.
Just because I need to watch this every once in a while.
Funny — I do the same thing! I just listened to Takk (the album on which Glosoli appears) last week on a drive home from a day trip to the Laurel Highlands (our local “branch” of the Allegheny Mountains). I was struck again by how incredibly solid and cohesive an album it is.
This is one I “have to watch every once in a while.” Someone simply did a film collage of his daughter and set it to the Sigur Ros song “Andvari.” Don’t know the guy at all, but the video is beautiful, as is the song (again from Takk). The 3 minutes or so of string quartet at the end is just gorgeous and the slight change in mood from major to minor at the 4:30 mark gets me every time.

I lent mine to someone back in England. I’ll have to get another one.
That’s really gorgeous, Rob. Thanks. There are some really nice things in the comments. I wasn’t going to read them, because YT comments tend to be worthless at best, but I was touched by some of them (not that I read all 278 or whatever it was).
I haven’t listened to Takk yet, though I bought it a few weeks ago. I already had Med Sud and thought I would listen to it first. I like it a lot. I drive an old Volvo which has a sun roof which I rarely open, because it’s either too hot or too cold. But sometimes I open it on fall and spring days, and I had it open the the other day when that song called Festival was playing, and that was really nice.
Like this comment: “thank you has mademy eyes weep by your vidio.”
Thank you Rob that is lovely.
Went to see the new Sigur Ros concert film, “Inni,” last night — very good stuff. Quite different in feel than “Heima” — more intense, less “polished” so to speak. It comes out on DVD on Nov. 15, as part of the new CD/DVD package.
The only bad thing was that the volume level in the theater wasn’t quite loud enough to get the overwhelming effect that seeing them live must have.
I’m pretty sure it would have been plenty loud for me. I would like to see it. I think I may buy Heima.
