Light On Dark Water

The closing words of Siegfried:

leuchtende Liebe,
lachender Tod!

or

radiant love,
joyful death!

Now of course there’s a way of meaning those words that could be very true and very Christian, but I’m afraid it’s just death-wish romanticism. Correct me if I’m wrong.
