   That’s a great article. I keep returning to the study that Simcha Fischer linked to about the physical connection between mothers and their children–only the biological mother can have that connection. No nanny or even grandmother can ever take her place.
   Of course we know that sometimes this just isn’t possible, but when it is possible, shouldn’t we encourage it? Even a materialist–especially a materialist who thinks that nature trumps all–should agree that we need to play along with nature here.

   You would think, but…the standard left/feminist response to that is a list of abusive or neglectful mothers, contrasted with the loving adoptive parent, preferably single and homosexual.
   One of the deep contradictions in modern leftism is maintaining that nature means everything when you want it to, and nothing when you don’t.
