By all indications, Stephen Hill of Music from the Hearts of Space is a secular/New-Age-y/all-religions-are-equally-valid kind of guy. But he certainly speaks very respectfully and often empathetically of Christianity. Read the notes for this week's program, which is devoted to Mary, and you'll see what I mean: …the spirit of Mary floats over Christian history like a beneficent cloud, carrying a message of eternal feminine wisdom, patience and compassion. That's a nice way to put it, I think. And be sure to look at the image gallery.

I love the coronation and the one with the two hands.

That’s a very intriguing playlist. I’ll have to try to listen if I can. Can’t help but noticing, though, that there’s no Renaissance or Tudor music present, which is a little odd. No Palestrina, Tallis, Byrd, etc.
Nice to see the Lauridsen and Whitacre pieces on there, however. The Lauridsen piece is an all-time Xmas favorite. -
Yeah, it does leap oddly from medieval to baroque to 20th c. Eric Whitacre is another choral composer my daughter has recommended. I just noticed most of the pieces are from one cd. By the way I’m going to post that O Magnum video that you emailed me. It’s lovely.

Glad you liked it! As I said, the recording could be better but that performance is just stellar.

I’m playing that HOS program softly in the background while I work. It’s lovely. The cd would probably be a worthwhile purchase, as only the two tracks by Libera and, unfortunately, the Lauridsen are not on the cd. You have to subscribe to HOS to hear it (except on Sunday when you can hear that week’s program free (with registration)).

They run the radio show here weekly but I’m not sure of the time or day. I’ll have to check the website.
