  2. Exactly, and I thought it appropriate as we head into Lent.

  3. Oh, man, I sing those all the time.

  4. Sally, That article about the Blues Singer’s woman is hysterical.

  5. I paid for posting these by having the first one stuck in my head for much of the past 24 hours, including a bout of insomnia early this morning.

  6. Whoooaaa!

  7. Heh. I wasn’t sure at first glance what you meant–that’s a hard sound to transcribe.

  8. Janet — I’m glad somebody actually visited the link. That may be my all-time favorite Onion piece.

  9. I love the woman’s picture. The article is here: http://www.theonion.com/articles/blues-singers-woman-permitted-to-tell-her-side,472/
    if anyone is interested.

  10. Thanks for providing the link–I was about to go looking for the link on Sally’s blog, in case that was where you saw it. Very funny. I’m surprised they didn’t include what I think of as one of the most common of those lines and have her saying that another mule had not been kicking in her stall. But I guess it depends on what songs you’ve heard the most.
