I've been busy since Friday morning, and maybe it's too late to do my usual weekend music post, but I've been wanting to post this anyway, so I'll go ahead. Let me warn you: this is a real tear-jerker. Those lines

  2. I became aware of Patti Griffin because of this song, and have listened to much, much more. She is amazing. “The Long Ride Home” is a song that brings tears and correction of course to me every time I hear it. She is a true poet, I think.

    Yes, res ex, it is sad, but not hopeless, although the hope is fairly faint.
