I became aware of Patti Griffin because of this song, and have listened to much, much more. She is amazing. “The Long Ride Home” is a song that brings tears and correction of course to me every time I hear it. She is a true poet, I think.
She really is. Not to mention having one of the most impressive voices in the business.
Yes, res ex, it is sad, but not hopeless, although the hope is fairly faint.
