Janet Cupo had surgery for cataracts last week and is having some pretty serious complications. Please keep her in your prayers.

certainly will say a rosary for Janet on my long trip back to the States, which is getting longer by the moment as the plane from Aberdeen to Gatwick (first leg) is delayed an hour and a half.

Oh boy–that fills me with happy anticipation of my intra-USA business-related trip next week.

now stuck at Heathrow and still praying for Janet. My ticket home had been ‘voided’ by aer lingus. thanks, aer lingus. God must have arranged all this so that someone would have a lot of time to spare to pray for Janet!

!!! According to the time stamps on your posts you have now been “flying” for 17 hours, yet without leaving the British Isles. Yes, it must be the hand of God. Janet had further surgery yesterday, btw, that’s hoped to correct the problem.
Perhaps if you have more time on your hands, and internet access, you would enjoy this. -
Thanks so much, Grumpy. My right eye is now swathed in bandages, and I am waiting until 11:30 when the doctor will remove them and I will know if I see or not. Our to that eye, anyway. It’s like a movie. I can’t see the screen without practically lying on top of it, so I’m typing blind. Please forgive me if I have made an7y egregiously naughty typos.
Hope you get where you are going soon.
BTW, my boss’s grandaughter calls him Grumpy and everybody else has pretty picked up on that, so whenever I see your name her or on my blog, it sets me back for a minute.

Oh, I meant to say that the reason I can’t see the screen is because my bandage is too fat to allow me to wear my glasses.

God bless you, Janet, I will certainly pray for your healing.

Thanks Louise and Grumpy. Things were better today. I can actually see out of my eye.

Wonderful! I hope it repairs completely.

Yes, this is very good news. I’m sure it’s been a very scary if not terrifying experience.

Where’s Grumpy? Is she over the Atlantic yet?

I’m back in the USA. It was the worst set of flights anywhere I have ever had. Janet got a lot of prayers. I am glad you are recovering.

Thanks Grumpy.
I have to say that I was never scared or terrified. I guess it was some kind of Charles Williams where I let other people be scared for me.
The one really terrifying moment was Tuesday when a young woman came in and said, “Hi, I’m B., the anesthesiology student, and I’m going to insert your IV.” I am a woman of small and invisible vein who comes from a family of small and invisible veins on both sides. I have lain in an emergency room with three people trying to start an IV for a considerable period of time, saying things like, “Darn, we blew another one.” Finally they gave up and let the anesthesiologist do it. I did not want a student.
There was one scary moment but if I tell it here, it will undermine the Tales of Horror and Humor that I have in mind for my blog.

And let me know next time you are flying anyplace and I will definitely pray for you.

I would certainly be scared by the prospect of losing sight in one eye. I might or might not manage to be resigned, but I would still be afraid.
-
My big problem is discouragement.
AMDG -
I can imagine. Things like this can really wear you down.

I clearly need it 🙂
I will continue to pray. -
How long did that trip end up taking?!
