Alternate Realities

Headline from MSNBC:

Is Romney off-message about his foreign policy?

MSNBC’s Chris Jansing talks with Nicholas Kristof of The New York Times, Jackie Kucinich of USA Today and former Bush advisor Mark McKinnon about Mitt Romney’s foreign policy blunders and the unrest in the Middle East.

Romney’s blunders?! The determination to talk about Romney rather than the administration’s predicament, not to say massive blunders and misdirections, is really striking. I know this is MSNBC, but much of the media have been doing the same. It seems we are at a point where there is not even much of an attempt to hide the fact that they see themselves as part of the Obama campaign. Or at least of the anti-Romney campaign.

  1. On New Zealand’s nightly news show, there is always at least one sound-bite about the U.S. presidential campaign and, without fail, it’s either outright pro-Obama or outright anti-Romney. And the Romney stuff is always delivered with a smirk.

  2. I don’t watch tv news but I’m sure it’s pretty much the same here, except for Fox News, which does have a pretty big audience. It’s bound to have some effect. I check in on Google News off and on through the day. That’s where I saw the headline I posted here, and I’ve seen others today that were definitely negative toward Romney, and none positive. At best they were neutral. While for Obama they’re either neutral or positive.
