Should I go to confession for having laughed at this?

Update: this is not the hijacked car, which was an SUV, which this clearly is not. This photo did appear in connection with the bombings. I haven't taken the time, and probably won't, to try to track down what was actually going on here.

It was  a brief laugh, but it was a laugh.

This is a picture of the car hijacked by the Boston bombers. The yellow ellipse draws your attention to what certainly appears to be one of those "COEXIST" bumper stickers.

But who knows?–maybe the sticker is part of the reason they didn't kill the driver.

    I’m glad you think so, because I just looked at it again and laughed again. It’s the contrast of the somewhat sanctimonious naivete and serious meanness. It makes me think of that episode in Waugh’s Decline and Fall involving the reform-minded prison warden and the psychotic prisoner who wants to learn woodworking.

    Mac, I thought the hijacked car was a SUV. I don’t think that was the car but perhaps one nearby. If you look at video recently put up one the internet you can see a similar car, looks like a BMW, close by: http://news.yahoo.com/eyewitness-releases-stunning-pictures-dramatic-shootout-between-boston-152219282.html

    You know, I’ve been meaning to check up on that. I realized a day or two after posting this picture that there was a discrepancy, but I never followed up on it.

    I always thought it was a SUV too. I noticed the discrepancy but thought you must know something I don’t, since I don’t have a TV and followed most of it from facebook.

    I believe I had some notion that they had taken possession of more than one car in their flight. Was there something about them stealing one at some point?… I also think I picked up this picture from somewhere or other that identified the car as hijacked. I need to track down the facts and probably correct this.
